You CAN Afford a College Education
Paying for college isn't easy, but you and your family can afford a college education with the help of grants, scholarships and loans. Grants and Scholarships are monetary awards that you do NOT need to pay back, but if you take out a loan, you will eventually need to pay it all back, and then some!
Start your search for college cash by applying for grants and at least five scholarships. Remember, there are hundreds, if not thousands of other students who also want that scholarship, so submit your applications early!

Cal Grants are one of the smartest ways to get cash for college. For starters, it's money you don't have to pay back. And secondly, it's guaranteed. If you're a graduating high school senior or recent graduate, meet academic, financial and eligibility requirements and submit two forms by March 2, you are guaranteed a Cal Grant!

Federal student aid is financial assistance that’s available through the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid.
Federal student aid covers school expenses such as tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation.
There are three categories of federal student aid: grants, work-study and loans.
Important Note: Not all schools participate in all federal student aid programs. Check with your school’s financial aid office to find out which programs your school participates in.
Why fill out a FAFSA?
The (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), or FAFSA, is the first step in the financial aid process. Use it to apply for federal student financial aid, such as the Pell Grant, student loans, and college work-study. In addition, most states and schools use FAFSA information to award their financial aid. For instructions on how to complete the FAFSA, select Completing the FAFSA.
